1. Standing too close to the fire
Understanding the distance to maintain between the extinguisher and the fire is one of the most important things to know. If the extinguisher is too far away then the stream will be very weak, and if it is too close, you can burn yourself or even spread the fire with too much of stream.
For a medium-sized extinguisher, a distance of eight feet is recommended by FEMA that gives you the right amount of power and at the same time won’t flatten out and widen the fire which causes the spread.
2. Shooting too high
Fire needs to be extinguished from the base of the fire. People frequently start streaming from the top of a fire and sweeping downwards in panic. This will cause the fire to burn more intensely rather than putting out the fire.

3. Not pulling the pin
